These “merino wool” socks are, of course, chiefly made from synthetic fibers, with merino wool being a minor constituent (30%), but I actually prefer this configuration in a hiking sock, as it minimizes shrinkage and allows for a bit of warmth and some breathability from the wool content, making it way superior to 100% polyester socks in my eyes. The socks do “settle” a bit if you pull them up too far, like up over your calves, but they do not slip down past this point. They keep my feet warm when I’m walking in the cold, so overall I’m really happy with them. Very good socks, good for hiking or wearing in the colder months.
